Yellow strapless silk dress and coolie hat from the Spring/Summer 1997 collection

Prize draw: Yohji Yamamoto at the V&A

If you don’t know anything about this fabulous, esoteric fashion designer, now is the time to find out at the V&A’s beautifully laid out and must-see new retrospective. In Yohji’s world, clothes aren’t just clothes, they are tools with which to explore gender, beauty and above all, humour. The show is laid out as an installation – so there are videos and i-pods of his past catwalk collections, including his Spring/Summer Play with Tradition show in which a bride and groom metamorphosize into each other. Most interesting though are the clothes which are laid out on mannequins throughout the museum so you can see the details up close and even touch the materials. If you’re inspired to hear more from the man himself, click here or our tip is to book in to hear him talk in person on 26th June.

Best of all, we’ve got a pair of tickets with a catalogue to giveaway. Simply fill in the form below by Thursday, 24 March, and we’ll pick one lucky winner out of a hat (see our Terms and Conditions here).
