This alternative children’s bedtime book has been such a viral sensation in the USA that it hit the number one spots on the New York Times and the Amazon.com bestseller lists before it was even published. You’ve probably heard or read about it (see the Guardian’s piece here), but it’s so much more charming and apt than it might sound. The text is hilarious and transporting, and pulls off the neat trick of being both profane and sweetly touching. The illustrations are completely wonderful. But don’t take our word for it. Here is a PDF of the whole, entire book. Weirdly, having it only makes you want you to buy the actual book more. Have a look and you’ll see what we mean.
