If, like us, you are interested in theatre, feminism, and more specifically, the history of the Women’s Movement, then there is a great talk on 25th June at 2.30pm at the National Theatre called Suffragettes on Stage. Samantha Bond, Janie Dee, Maggie Gale and Naomi Paxton will discuss the role in theatre in the fight for Votes for Women. Certainly, the theatre played an important part in the fight, and the Actresses’ Franchise League was founded in 1908 as ‘a bond of union between all women in the Theatrical profession who are in sympathy with the Woman’s Franchise Movement’. You can hear about this and much more at the talk. It will last 90 minutes and it costs £6, but we’ve got a pair of tickets to giveaway on a first come, first served basis. Just be the first to send us a tweet @littlebirdcom and the tickets will be waiting for you at the box office to pick up anytime before 2.30pm on 25th June.
