The Queen’s Fringe

We need very little reason to visit the shops on Lamb’s Conduit Street and Rugby Street but this Sunday, there will be an added incentive: The Queen’s Fringe, an alternative celebration for Her Majesty’s 90th birthday. We’re most looking forward to the Great Dog Show at Pentreath & Hall (categories include ‘Waggiest Tail’ and all entrants will receive treats) and separately, the free cream tea that Persephone Books will be serving. It’s also worth mentioning that all Persephone Books bought on the day from the shop will be £8 rather than the usual £12 so this would be the time to buy Miss Pettigrew Lives for the Day or The World that was Ours if you haven’t already. Whilst the screen printing workshops at lovely Thornback & Peel are fully booked, other attractions on the day will include Morris dancers, a crown making competition, free beard trims at Huckle the Barber and gin and tonic ice lollies from the Perseverance pub. See you there!
