29 June, 7.00pm
This summer, beginning on 27th June, Selfridges is launching its own Shakespeare-fest to celebrate the 400 years since The Bard’s death. Called Shakespeare Refashioned, there will be specially commissioned fashion collections, workshops, talks, and performances in a newly created in-store theatre. To kick things off, the store has invited 5 x 15 (whose events we often rave about) to host an evening of talks, with five speakers each discussing their relationship with Shakespeare’s works for 15 minutes. The speakers are fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes, perfumer Roja Dove, poet and producer James Massiah, actor Simon Callow and fashion historian Amber Butchart, and the evening will be hosted by actor Jude Owusu. We’d go to a talk by any one of those speakers, so to have all five at once is a huge bonus. Not surprisingly, tickets are going quickly so do book now and #GetTheetoSelfridges.
