RESTAURANTS & BOOKS
18 January 2017
As part of their Cookbook Club series, chef Allegra McEvedy will be cooking and talking about her latest book, Quick Quick Slow, at the Dock Kitchen on Wednesday 18th January. Aged 24, McEvedy was head chef at Tom Conran’s The Cow in Notting Hill and then ran Robert de Niro’s Tribeca Grill in New York. She is particularly interested in ethical food sourcing and healthy eating, co-founding the fast-food restaurant chain LEON in 2003. Quick Quick Slow is her seventh book and was one of our favourites of last year (it was published in October). With particular emphasis on marinating, preserving, curing and pressing, McEvedy shows how with an initial input of time, some dishes can then be whipped up quickly at the last minute. We loved the recipes and can’t wait to hear what McEvedy has to say in person.
