Preview of Josef Frank exhibition at The Fashion & Textile Museum

We’re hugely excited about this first ever UK exhibition of the work and textiles of Josef Frank opening this Saturday.  If you’re not familiar with his name, you’ll most likely know his work.  Designer, architect and artist, Frank is best known for his bold, nature-inspired fabric, wallpapers and furniture designs for the Swedish design company Svenskt Tenn.  Working together with the designer and entrepreneur Estrid Ericson, they helped to define what is now considered Swedish Modern style.  This show will exhibit not only a series of room sets of Frank’s furniture together with his fabric designs but also a large number of his watercolours, which are less well-known.  And if you’d like to see the show before everybody else, then do buy tickets for the preview morning this Friday at 11am – 12.30pm.  There will be short guided tours of the show by the curators at 11.15 and 11.45 and you’ll also be able to visit the shop where a range of Svenskt Tenn products will be on sale.
