Wintertime at the Southbank

If you’ve visited the Southbank over the past year you couldn’t have missed the ongoing Nordic Matters celebration which comes to an end this November and December in the Wintertime festival. There are the usual festive pop-ups including the ever-popular Christmas market and pop-up bars but there are also lots of great things to book. Danish children’s theatre company Teater Refleksion will bring their magical Night Light show (19th-31th Dec) while the Norwegian ice-instrument pioneer, Terje Isungset, will perform his ethereal ice music on 15th December. There’s lots of grown-up fun too including the Finnish rooftop sauna which will be installed in the rooftop garden of the Queen Elizabeth Hall (10th Nov – 31st Dec) and an immersive exhibition ABBA: Super Troupers (from 14th Dec) with an entire Abba themed day on 17th. Time to dig out your festive lurex and pull on those platforms.
