There are so many good book talks on in London that sometimes it can be hard to know which to choose. A discussion between the authors of two of our favourite page-turning novels of last year, however, immediately got our notice. (And full disclosure: our very own Alex Peake-Tomkinson has now been asked to chair the talk). The Stopped Heart by Julie Myerson is the perfect book to catapult you out of a reading slump and was one of the books we recommended on our Christmas list last year. Emma Flint’s Little Deaths exerts a similar grip over the reader. Flint and Myerson will be discussing how and why they write about taboos in their fiction, as well as their techniques for creating suspense. This is one book talk where you won’t need to have read the novels first but we can pretty much guarantee you’ll want to read them afterwards. The authors will also be answering audience questions and signing books post-discussion. See you there!
