We saw Dan Zanes last time he was here in 2009 (without any kids of our own) and loved it. So did all the children there (they were all ages, but mostly from about 2 – 10), and between them and Zanes, the Queen Elizabeth Hall was transformed into a full on dance party, even at 11am. Zanes is a rock musician from Brooklyn who used to play grown up music, but discovered he had more fun when he played for his kids and their friends. Now that’s what he does all the time, and it’s clearly a calling rather than a compromise. His band are fantastic – you’ll wish you could join them – and play every kind of instrument from the electric guitar, fiddle, and upright bass to the spoons, harmonica, trumpet and mandolin. It’s all nothing but joyous. Book tickets now – they sell out fairly quickly.
