We’re dreaming of spring. With lots of sunshine and blue skies. We’re also planning our spring diary (yes, we are that organised) – most excitingly booking tickets for the best production of The Tempest you are ever likely to see and that grand chantreuse, Marianne Faithfull, who is singularly mesmerising on stage. Both are appearing at the Barbican as part of their Bite 11 and Contemporary Season, with Faithfull showcasing music from her new upcoming album Horses and High Heels. The Tempest is being staged by one of our best theatre companies, Cheek by Jowl’s Russian partner, Chekhov International Festival. We saw their previous production of Twelfth Night and it was extraordinary. A definite don’t miss.
