What a lovely shopping website Cachette is. Put together by an Anglo-French couple with impeccable taste, the site sells useful and really well designed things: objects, stationery, accessories, stuff for your kitchen, bathroom, utility room and garden, food, gifts, toys, and lights: basically, anything the couple love. It’s a bit like Labour and Wait meets Selvedge Dry Goods with a French twist, so you can find a table dustpan and brush or Marseille soap along side a stoneware teapot or really pretty notebook covers. Prices are reasonable too. We’re particularly taken with the ‘learn to draw animal cards’ for kids, a snip at €4, and the inspection lights, which look like the ones we always admire hanging from the ceiling in the Soho restaurant Polpo. But frankly we’d take anything from the site. Great for gifts too.
