One question which troubled us while watching the Olympics swimming was what all that chlorinated water must do to one’s skin and hair. Swimming pool water is not your skin’s friend, as you will know if you’ve spent a chunk of the summer entertaining water babies. We were delighted to learn that the delectable Ryan Lochte’s secret weapon is Kiehl’s Creme de Corps: “I go through a ton of it,” he confesses. We already love Creme de Corps – as does every beauty editor on the planet – but find it tricky to justify the price (£44 for the 500ml sized pump). That said, it definitely improves the look and feel of skin, the texture is just perfect – really rich and creamy but easily absorbed – and the huge bottle means it keeps on going… So knowing that this is what keeps Ryan’s skin looking so shiny – and we’ve seen quite a lot of it of late (see above. Yum) – means it’s definitely worth it. If you’re popping in to a Kiehl’s shop itself, rather than a department store, our favourite is on Monmouth Street, Covent Garden, where they manage to recreate the ‘community pharmacy’ vibe of its East Village origins.
