It wasn’t until we were considering wearing a dress earlier this week that we realised how frighteningly white our legs (hidden for so long under opaque tights and jeans) actually are. Or were. Luckily we had our secret weapon to hand: Xen Ten Mist Intense. We started using it last year and found it so brilliant that it took us through getting married (wearing a strapless dress) and into our honeymoon. The foolproof, no streaks part comes from using the all important ‘Mitt‘. At first we were a bit peeved about paying £5 for a mitt but believe us, it’s the best £5 you’ll spend this summer. Simply exfoliate, spray on the mitt (we use the dark mist as we can’t be bothered with building it up and even on our pale skin, it looks natural) and then smooth, rather than rub, over your body. For our faces we splash out and use the divine Sisley Self Tanning Hydrating Facial Skin Care. Like all Sisley products, it’s eye-wateringly expensive but it gives us a really great healthy colour that we’ve yet to find elsewhere.
And for the rest of our holiday beauty essentials? Well, we like to keep everything light and fairly fuss free. We can’t be bothered with foundation and instead use Dior’s Hydra Life BB Creme which has an SPF of 30 and smells divine or Laura Mercier’s Oil-Free Tinted Moisturiser which gives great coverage and, with a primer, stays where it is all day. If you’re going to get hot and sweaty, then you’ll need Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Powder. New on the market, it really does do what it says on the tin and we think it really lives up to the rave reviews. We always have our Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara to hand and for lip colour, we love the Clinique Chubby Sticks or for something more glossy, the Dior Addict Lip Glows are great. Finally, a pea-sized dab of Shu Uemura Nourishing Protective Oil on our hair keeps it smooth and glossy for days.
