Our holiday wardrobe wish-list

Every year we promise ourselves that we’re going to be organised and get our holiday wardrobe sorted.  And then the night before we leave arrives and we’re still digging out our old clothes, wishing they didn’t look so tired. Well, hurrah, because this year we’ve actually done it – we’ve put together our wish-list of what we’d like to be packing.  Holiday here we come!

According to a fashion editor friend, white jeans are back this summer.  Well, it’s news to us because we’ve been wearing them for years! The fit with white jeans is even more important than blue (which can hide a multitude of sins) – they should be slim fitting but never tight.  Our favourite are these , The Ellsworth, from MiH (£187) which fit perfectly and wear well, although do buy a size smaller than normal as they do stretch.  (Don’t forget MiH have a sample sale next week, see details here).

Can we ever have enough sunglasses?  Not when we’re having a retro Palm Beach moment and we can’t resist these these from House of Fraser“>Miu Miu (£175) .

We’re pretty picky about our bikinis – we like them with structure, preferably both boning and padding because let’s face it, nobody likes a saggy side view.  This one in a great emerald green from Heidi Klein (£180) fits the bill perfectly.

This cover-up dress from LemLem (£212), the eco-clothing line by model Liya Kibade, is great for both beach and city.  Buy it here from J Crew.

Dresses are perfect holiday wear as far we we’re concerned.  No fuss, no decisions, just one-stop dressing.  We particularly like this denim one from J Crew (£100) and this from APC.

Ditto denim shorts.  There are loads out there but we like these rough and ready roll-up ones from Anthropologie (£58).

We bought these Chloe shoes (£280) in a sale last year in the nude colour and wore them almost every day. Super comfortable right from the beginning they go with everything (and they’re way more comfortable than Lanvin banana flats).  Plus you can get them in every colour from bright yellow to taupe.

We’ve been yearning for these Tabitha Simmons‘ (£330) striped espadrilles since we first saw them on Christy Turlington earlier this spring.  They’re not the cheapest but they are lovely.

And how could we not love these Kat Maconie sandals from Anthropologie?  Chic with just enough of a heel and a flattering nude ankle strap.

And finally, we couldn’t resist these fun and flirty earrings by Catherine Zoraida (£120).
