The Rug Company launched its original collaboration with Alexander McQueen in 2010 after working on the collection of cushions, wall and floor coverings for three years. McQueen died a few months ahead of the launch. Now his successor, Sarah Burton, who has taken the brand global over the past couple of years – and wowed the fashion world with her evermore rarified shows – has picked up where McQueen left off with a new collection featuring prints inspired by her 2011 debut, Folklore. As with all The Rug Company’s beautiful designs these are major investments but they will also last a lifetime. The Monarch Fire hand-knotted silk rug (pictured) or Poppy Night wall-hanging are exquisite pieces to own; the cushions are a slightly more accessible way to get a little bit of the McQueen magic.
