We’ve raved about 5 x 15 talks many times before and this autumn they have two of our favourite authors and speakers.  Both talking about their new books, Jeanette Winterson’s The Gap of Time is a personal retelling of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale.   (If you haven’t read her memoir, Why be Happy when you can be Normal, then do read it before you hear her speak).  And Edmund de Waal, author of The Hare with the Amber Eyes, will be talking about The White Road, about his obsession with porcelain.  A potter who has been working with ‘white gold’ for more than forty years, de Waal describes how he set out on five journeys to places where porcelain was dreamed about, refined, collected and coveted.  The talks are both in October but we suggest you book early as they will both sell out soon.
