Heal’s Swedish Summer workshops

Heal’s first started promoting Swedish Design in 1951, with an exhibition twenty years later.  Now over 50 years later, this summer they are once again celebrating Swedish style. There will be an exhibition throughout August of Swedish rugs, textiles, furniture, ceramics and crockery.  There will also be a series of workshops, particularly referencing ‘Syjunta’ which is the Swedish word for a group of people getting together to sew, crochet, knit, embroider and socialise.  You’ll be able to learn how to make flower headbands for children, how to embroider and quilt Swedish style, how to knit a soft toy and also how to cross stitch.  Do book ahead for the workshops and whilst you are there, don’t miss their new  delicious all-day brasserie, Forge & Co, which has just opened (a branch of the Shoreditch restaurant).
