Pursuit of Love and Love in a Cold Climate by Nancy Mitford reissued by Penguin, £6.59 each at Hive.  Mitford at her wittiest, we could re-read these every year.

Chanel green Le Vernis nail varnish, £18 from Selfridges.  A classic with a twist.

Rococo cat that got the cream ganache box, £16.95 from Rococo.  We can’t resist either the box or the chocolates inside.

Large rose pebble soap, £16 from Bamford.  This smells divine and lasts for ages.

Large porto stoneware plate, £20 from The White Company because these serving dishes are hard wearing but very pretty.

Classic panettone, £19.70 from Ottolenghi.  New to their online shop this year and, yes, absolutely delicious.
