Young Filmmakers’ Academy summer course

If you have a film-obsessed teenager at home, then you’ll be interested to know that the London Film Academy have just launched their first practical filmmaking course this summer for 13 – 17 year olds.  The two week course in August explores the six key disciplines of the filmmaking process: screenwriting, directing, camera operating, cinematography, sound and editing, and how to take a story from script to screen.  The participants will have the chance to work with film and TV professionals, shooting in studio and on-location producing live action shots, with a final cinema screening for family and friends.  At £995, it isn’t cheap but with a finished DVD and an IMDB listing, it’s an amazing start for any teenager thinking about a career in film or drama.
