Chantecaille for kids

Olivia Chantecaille with her daughter Delphina

Chantecaille is one of our very favourite skincare and makeup brands.  We love that it’s products are free from synthetic fragrances or colours, phthalates, detergents and are cruelty free. Most of all though, they feel great on the skin and we always have a Lip Chic lipstick in our handbag and in the summer, a tube of the tinted moisturiser.  The brand was set up in 1997 by the charismatic and charming Sylve Chantecaille, who started a cosmetics line in the 70s with Diane von Furstenburg and then went on to launch Prescriptives at Estée Lauder. Her whole family has now become part of Chantecaille and when her daughter Olivia gave birth 3 years ago, she searched high and low for a range of organic, natural moisturisers and body washes for her baby (babies absorb 13 times the amount of body creams than adults due to the surface of skin ratio).  Not finding anything that she liked, she decided to start a childrens line at Chantecaille with a body wash, body lotion and face cream (there will be a body oil from next year).  It isn’t cheap (around £40 per product) but it has the most wonderful texture and natural orange blossom smell and if you want to buy organic products for your child, we can’t recommend it highly enough.  On sale exclusively at Harrods from tomorrow, the range sold out in 3 hours when it was launched earlier this year in Canada and we suspect that a few mothers might just be using it for both mother and child!
