TALKS & WORKSHOPS
3 - 7 May 2017
Now in it’s 3rd year, there are over 250 events that make up London Craft Week. Held at a vast array of places across London, from the V&A to The House of Lords, from behind-the-scenes studios to Michelin starred restaurants, there are some fantastic workshops and talks on offer. You’ll find established names such as Smythsons, Bill Amberg (we particularly like the sound of his stitching or glove making workshops), Mulberry, Rose Uniacke (who will be hosting a wallpaper demonstration), Lyn Harris (who will be teaming up with Tim d’Offay, owner and founder of Postcard Teas, for a discussion about aroma in perfume and tea), Georg Jenson (silversmithing demonstrations), Mary Katrantzou, Grayson Perry and Vivienne Westwood (see how one of her signature corsets are made) alongside a huge variety of craftsmen including steam benders from Cornwall, furniture makers from Denmark and ceramists from Taiwan. See the website for the full list of all talks, demonstrations and workshops – you really can do anything from chocolate making and basket weaving to letterpress printing. We urge you to book now though as the workshops are often small and are selling out quickly.
