Our Summer Beauty Hero Products

We’ve spent quite a few summers honing down our best beauty products.  We want light products that work well and stay on, even in the heat.  These are our top picks.

If you find your makeup sliding down your face in the heat, then this is your perfect product.  We particularly like it in this mini 50ml travel size too. Milk Hydro Grip Setting Spray, £17 from CultBeauty

This was our go-to sunscreen on holiday this year.  It disappears on the skin once it has dried, leaving no greasy residue and a matte finish. Again, we love it in the 15ml travel size. Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 30, £15 from Cult Beauty

For the perfect sun-kissed glow, we return to this product again and again. Chanel Healthy Glow cream-gel bronzer, £43 from John Lewis

If powder bronzer is more your thing, this is a great one to try. One of the only bronzers we have found that is without sparkle and never turns orangey. Beauty Butter Powder Bronzer, £69 from Westman Atelier

Reapplying sunscreen over makeup can be tricky. This product is sprayed right over the top of everything and blurs imperfections — all with SPF50. The dream. UncompliKated SPF50, £34 from Kate Somerville

Humidity can be a real problem in the summer and even fine hair can become unruly. After seeing others raving online, we figured why not try it at such a low price — and it works!  L’Oreal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths Wonder Water, £6 at LookFantastic

The ideal hairbrush to take to the beach or pool, this works well on wet hair after swimming. Tangle Teezer, £12 from LookFantastic

This wonder cream contains guaraná which has five times more caffeine than coffee to stimulate micro-circulation and give you a smoother bum. It’s rich to apply with a summery pistachio smell. Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, £18 from Sol de Janeiro

Piz Buin Tan Intensifying After Sun contains Tanimel, a natural plant extract that helps enhance the skin’s natural tanning pigments. It’s not a fake tan and won’t mark your clothes, but somehow it really does enhance your colour. £6 from Boots

We recently bought Glossier’s Lash Stick. It’s a good, subtle option if you want a water-resistant mascara for the day time that makes you look polished and bright eyed but almost like you’re not wearing make up at all. We’d still splurge on Chanel’s Inimitable Waterproof mascara though because it’s buildable, and will take you from the day through to the evening with noticeable (but crucially non-clumpy) volume. £30 from LookFantastic

Aerin’s feminine perfumes feel perfect for summer. This travel size comes in a pretty, slim bottle. Mediterranean Honeysuckle eau de parfum travel spray, £25 from Harrods
