Donald Robertson Embroidery Sets
‘Be a warrior not a worrier’ seems a good motto for these times. It’s the favourite mantra of California-based artist Donald Robertson (AKA @drawbertson) whose hand-painted design has been transformed into an embroidery set by The Plum Stitchery. The canvas comes ready for you to needlepoint with black and pink wool or silk. Latest binge Netflix series: Enola
This brand new series kicked off last night starring Millie Bobby Brown as the younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes. When her mother, played by Helena Bonham Carter, disappears on her 16th birthday, Elona decides to escape finishing school and find her. Also including appearances by Fiona Shaw and Frances de la Tour, the series is based on the six books by American author Nancy Springer and it was actually Bobby Brown’s idea to bring them to screen. Directed by Killing Eve’s Harry Bradbeer and written by His Dark Materials’ Jack Thorne, this is just the sort of fun escapism we need right now.
Napoli Gang, the delivery-only restaurant from Circolo Popolare and Gloria
We’re excited for the arrival of Napoli Gang, the latest venture from the Big Mamma Group (behind buzzy Circolo Popolare and Gloria). The delivery-only restaurant launches on 23 September and features a new menu that’s been entirely designed to withstand the process and arrive as good as it would at a restaurant. Delivery is limited to a 2-mile radius of its Shoreditch and Kentish Town outposts (Battersea is coming at the end of October) with dishes including Hot Damn pizza with spicy nduja, San Marzano tomato and candied red onions, antipasti sourced from small family-run artisan producers, wines and cocktails like the Better Days Spritz and the group’s famous dolci. Everything is done with characteristic good humour: their brilliant staff T-shirts are also now available to order here.
