The Hart brothers have just opened their latest restaurant, Parrillan (pronounced Pari – Yan) in Borough Yards, sister to the Barrafina restaurants, which celebrates Spanish produce cooked over wood-fired grill. You’ll find whole fish, galician steaks, arroces and seasonable vegetables on the menu. Outside on the terrace, dotted with ikat and striped cushions, guests can also cook on their own smaller grill, a parilla. You can come for either dinner or drinks – the wine list is mostly Spanish wines along with sherries and canvas, as well as some delicious gin cocktails. Make your reservations here.
Last Friday, The Berkeley launched Il Giardino, an Al Fresco Italian restaurant. Celebrating Italian cooking, this pretty restaurant is covered with a canopy of leaves and lined with delicious-smelling herb plants and olive trees. Sip on Mediterranean wines and Italian-inspired aperitivos whilst sitting on chairs by Ceraudo, specially made for the restaurant. After your meal, choose from apricot crostata with amaretto ice cream and tiramisu served alongside gelato cones of Amalfi lemon and pastel peach sorbets. Open from Wednesday to Sunday. Make your reservation here.
The Black Chapel at The Serpentine Gallery designed by Theaster Gates opens June 7th and when we had a sneak-peak earlier this month, it looked rather impressive, despite still being unfinished. We advise you grab a picnic and eat nearby in the park after your visit. If you can’t be bothered to make your own, you can always order from SUPPER which will bring you ready-packed picnics from restaurants such as Nobu , ROKA, Petersham Nurseries’ La Goccia and China Tang, straight to wherever you are.
