SJ Axelby’s Interior Portraits: An Artist’s View of Designers’ Living Spaces, 13th October

If you like SJ Axelby’s cult Instagram feed RoomPortraitClub, then you’ll love this book of Sarah-Jane’s paintings of designers’ homes from Lucinda Chambers to Matilda Goad and Robert Kime to Sophie Conran.  Designed as a scrapbook to dip in and out of, it comes with a ribbon, coloured edges and handpainted end papers.

The River Cafe Look Book, 17th October

The first cookbook from the famous restaurant that is for both novice cooks and kids.  It has over 50 recipes including a host of their own classic dishes that have been simplified (without losing out on taste) – think chocolate torte and smashed broad bean bruschetta. With lots of inspiring pictures alongside the recipes, it’s for ‘kids of all ages.’

A Kind of Magic: The Kaleidoscopic World of Luke Edward Hall, 3rd November

From his Cotswold Cottage to London flat and his working studio, Edward Hall lets the reader into his magical world of baroque architecture, 80s music (the title refers to the Queen song which Edward Hall was obsessed with as a teenager), mythology and folklore.

Just kids by Patti Smith is still one of our favourite books and she shares more of her thoughts in this new publication which brings together a selection of her Instagram images.  Since she started her account in 2018, she has accrued over 1 million followers and shared images of her home and life on tour.  This book takes 365 images from that account in which Smith takes you through each day of the year alongside her poetry, writing and images.
