When it comes to knitwear, always check out the men’s section. For years we have been buying good quality, high-street jumpers with a slightly oversized feel using this strategy. We love this printed knit from Cos. And, leopard is a neutral, right?

For the softest cashmere, check out relative newcomer Lisa Yang. Available at MatchesFashion and Net-a-Porter, as well as her own site, we have found them to wash well and don’t pill easily. Certainly these are a step up price-wise from high street cashmere, but this seasonless style and colour should get lots of wear.

£690 from Marni
This cardigan from Marni is so playful and fun, we just can’t resist! We also adore the high buttoned collar for extra warmth.
Is this the perfect striped cardigan?
This won’t come as a surprise – we love a good stripe. This navy and cream cardigan is sitting in our shopping trolley. The shape is great — not too long, not too short — and the colour palette is timeless. In a cashmere and wool mix.

Katie Homes broke the internet with her cardigan/bra combination last year. If you’ve been searching for the same, New York brand Khaite is the place to find it. All their knitwear is gorgeous, with a heavy look and feel that is near impossible to find at a lower price point. But, ouch!, it does hurt the wallet.
Keep your eye on The Outnet for occasional stock.
