From the company that supplies bespoke and historic wallpapers such as those made by Marthe Armitage, comes a new collaboration with the illustrator Alice Pattullo. Just launched Wednesday 25th May, the designs draw on Pattullo’s childhood memories, English nature and landscapes, folklore and traditions, all printed from the original ink drawn designs and paper-cuts. The results are absolutely charming, particularly those that evoke her parents’ allotment with the trees and animals that she discovered there as a child. Priced £162.50 per roll plus VAT from Hamilton Weston.
We discovered Emily Mitchell Pottery through an Instagram rabbit hole and we’re so very glad that we found her. A ceramicist and artist based in her studio in Norwich, her love of ceramics came from her mother, Judith Onions, best known for her re-invention of the classic blue and white striped ‘Cornishware’ for TG Green and Co. You can find her work at The Shop Floor Project , Berdoulat, Homeward Studio and Snape Maltings Gallery, as well as her own Instagram page. We particularly love her blue and white platters (from around £250) which are part of her newest collection for Unpolished Space gallery in the Cotswolds and candlestick holders (£60).
Interior Designer Penny Morrisson has recently introduced the pretty Kalee collection – a set of tablecloths and napkins that come in two colour ways. A riff on traditional Indian patterns, prices start at £55 for 4 napkins.
Barneby Gates have added two more pretty wallpapers to their much sought-after collection: hot air balloons and Strawberry trellis. Both come in two different colourways and are extremely versatile – they could be used from hallways to bedrooms. From £108 per roll at Barneby Gates.
£170 from Trove by Studio Duggan
If you haven’t visited the Notting Hill shop, Trove by Studio Duggan, then you are in for a treat. From the cushions covered in Antoinette Poisson fabric to the swoony bed side tables, we could buy everything in the shop. Their latest product launch are their lacquered and rattan trays, from £140. They are selling out quickly and most are sold out but don’t worry, you can put your name down on the wait list for the next drop.
Such was the success of Buchanan Studio’s striped chair that they now sell the striped fabric too. Our favourite is the new ruby and rose colour way that was inspired by their brilliant kids’ ‘battenberg’ bathroom in their house. The stripe itself is inspired by antique French mattress stripes and is rotary screen printed in England on 100% belgian linen. Stripe Two is £120 per metre.
Tarn London is curated by Tanya Zendra who began buying antiques for her own home before branching out and selling both antiques and art online. She is now introducing her first in-house product – a scalloped shaped lampshade available in The Margot (plain) and The Matilda (striped). Based on a vintage Swedish design, she decided to bring it back to life, no easy task as it is made with 10 individual handmade pieces that are then crafted together. Keep your eyes peeled on Tarn London’s Instagram account for when the dates to pre-order will be announced.
Fellow British Vogue alumnae Pippa Holt’s kaftans proved an instant success and have had customers asking for more – specifically for tableware. So this month she launched a series of tablecloths, placemats, coasters and napkins all in her distinctive patterns and weaves handmade by artisans in Mexico. From £125 at MATCHESFASHION.
And finally, due to be launched at the end of June is Salvesen Graham’s hugely anticipated line of wallpaper. Their Salvesen Graham Collection was launched a few years ago and includes must-buys such as the collaboration with Edit 58’s checked cushions and lacquered trays, candleholders and mirrors. Keep your eyes peeled on their Instagram Account for more details.
